Mac and Devin Go to High School 2012 is a comedy that follows two high school students -- one overachiever struggling to write his valedictorian speech, the other a senior now going on his 15th year of school.
Mac and Devin Go to High School 2012 is hilarious Rudy Ray Moore-inspired African-American comedy vehicle for Snoop Dogg who's perfectly cast as the kid who's spent 15 years repeating his last year at high school, the movie also functions as a paean to the joys of smoking weed and may well have a genuinely effective subversive message in that sense with its inclusion of all the basic facts about marihuana that a lot of people might not know, yet that always remains funny and never too preachy; the movie also boasts a top West Coast rap soundtrack, some hugely entertaining voice-over work from Ludicrous, plus a sexy cast clearly having a lot of fun making a movie that, like most RRM's films, is anomalous to the usual Hollywood industry drivel a slight disappointment is that it's a little on the short side, and thus padded out during the lengthy closing credits with various outtakes, not all of them particularly funny
